The standard tuning for a guitar is as follows:

E - A - D - G - B - E

Which, to my mostly-untrained eye looks like a G Major (add 2+4). To my ear it sounds full and just a little clashed.

People online seem to have varying opinions about this.

Maybe a set of notes played together only has a chord-name in context of other chords in a harmonic progression. . .
